Tanya graduated with Honours from Ryerson University’s Theatre School Dance Program. She is an experienced teacher that has taught for several dance schools across Canada, as well as being a guest teacher and choreographer for many dance schools, and Performing Arts Schools. Her choreography is often recognized and awarded, and her students have received high marks and specialized awards across Canada and the United States.
After she graduated in 2000, Tanya joined Jean Ann Ryan Productions, where she danced aboard several cruise ships for Norwegian, and Regal Cruise Lines. During her time onboard, she was appointed Dance Captain, where she was responsible for running daily classes, as well as rehearsals. She also trained new casts that were joining the ships, and staged the productions. Tanya had the opportunity to choreograph a new show for the cruise ships fall foliage tour through the Maritimes & St. Lawrence Seaway in Canada.
Throughout her career, she has worked with several dance groups and companies. Tanya was a dancer with the Danny Grossman Dance Company during their Niagara Residency Program, and a Soloist with the Buffalo City Ballet Company under the Direction of Marvin Askew, where she toured the South Eastern United States. She was also a corps member with the Niagara Civic Ballet Company under the Direction of Beverly Feder F.I.S.T.D.
Tanya has worked and trained with choreographers and Dance Masters including, National Ballet Mistress and former Principal Dancer – Nadia Potts, Jean-Aimee LaLonde from the Derosiere Dance Company, renowned Jazz Choreographer - Vicki St.Denys, ARAD & Examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance – Audrey Looker, Founder of the Quinte Ballet School – Brian Scott F.I.S.T.D., Internationally award-winning Choreographer and Artistic Director of the Nashville Ballet - Paul Vasterling, Artistic Director of the Singapore Dance Theatre – Janek Schergen, as well as many others.
Tanya is a strong believer in life long learning, and continues to further her knowledge of dance, by attending conventions and workshops as often as possible. She has attended workshops with choreographers such as, Mia Michaels, Blake McGrath, Shannon Mather, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Sonya Tayeh. She currently holds her Intermediate Certificate in both Cecchetti, and R.A.D. ballet.
